While mugging up History during school time was an omnivious task, seldom are times when History fascinates us. Tanhaji is a similar kind of masterpiece. The year 2019 thrilled us with movies like Article 15, URI:The Surgical Strike, Gully Boy and Mardaani 2; 2020 started with taking us aback into some dusted pages of History.

Tanhaji: the Unsung Warrior, hit the screens on 10th January 2020 along side Deepika Padukone starrer movie Chhapaak. 4540 screens world-wide witnessed the heroic deeds of Tanhaji Malusare in the Battle of Kondhana(now Sinhagad) which included 3880 screens in India and 660 screens overseas. Director Om Raut in his debut movie in Bollywood hit a sixer as the movie earned 15.10 cr on the first day of its release. The movie till the 6th day has managed to earn 107.68crores making it a special one for Ajay Devgan as it was his 100th film and his 10th film to hit the 100cr Club. Working with his wife Kajol made it even more special for him as he mentions in one of his tweets that it had felt like home on set.

The movie has got a great response from the critics and ratings as high as 8.7 on IMDb, 91% on BookmyShow and 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. The lead of film constituted of Ajay Devgan playing the part of Tanhaji Malusaare, Kajol as Savitribai(Tanhaji’s wife), Saif Ali Khan in a the negative role of Udaybhan Rathod, Sharad Kelkar as Chhatrapati Sivaji Maharaj and Luke Kenny as Aurangzeb.

Analysis of Success of Tanhaji

Tanhaji acts a visual treat to the audience and is first of its kind in bollywood to have such an amazing work of VFX and CGI. The movie had a large number of war scenes which was executed to perfection under the direction of the Action Director Ramazan Bulut. The movie made more business in Maharashtra due to the local historical significance of the story. The movie went tax-free in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana and is planned to be made tax-free in the state of Maharashtra as well. The movie gives a special prominence to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as Kajol in a monolouge says “Jab Shivaji Maharaj ki talwar chalti hai toh auraton ka ghoonghat aur brahmano ka janeu salamat rehta hai”.

The success of the movie accounts to the widespread release of the movie. As described by the audience the movie instills within individuals the feelings of Deshbhakti and nation above all. It is very educative for the current generation as history for them stands eroded. The negative role of Saif Ali Khan was particularly liked and appreciated by the majority. While the role of Udaybhan involved brutality, Saif by adding punches of humour made the role more appealing to the audience. Ajay Devgan in the role of Tanhaji did total justice to his character and Kajol though with a small screen presence made her character stand out. Overall the movie had a straight and a crisp storyline but each and every character had their own special parts to play which grabbed the audience’s attention wanting to see what happens next.

With the hardwork and efforts put into the movie by everyone, we recommend Tanhaji as a must watch to our audience. With Tanhaji creating a benchmark, we look forward to more such movies in Bollywood where importance and money is invested in right heads rather than just sets.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
