Here we are going to talk about that web series which somewhat made us realize that what we see or interpret might not be exactly what it is. So yeah, we are talking about the web series, Code M, which was released on 15^th January 2020.

Code M is an Indian Hindi Mystery Drama produced and directed by Juggernaut Productions and Akshay Choubey respectively. The show got aired on ALT Balaji and ZEE5. The series starred Jennifer Winget as Major Monica Mehra, Tanuj Virwani as legal Council Angad Sadhu, Rajat Kapoor as Col. Suryaveer Chauhan, Seema Biswas as Asif’s mother, Keshav Sadhna as Major Gaurav, Aalekh Kapoor as Major Shakti Mandappa, Meghna Kaushik as Serana and many more talented actors.

The series has total of 8 episodes. The series is all about mystery and suspense that revolves around Major Monica Mehra who was called for a military encounter case investigation and she discovers a conspiracy plot. As she keeps on investigating and tries to loosen each and every knot, she discovers that one after the other new mysteries are waiting for her. After solving each mystery, the case brings forth several revelations which stunned the whole Indian Army. The series has also got an amazing response from the audience as well as from the critics. It has got a rating of 7.9 out of 10 from IMDb and 88% likes from the Google users.

The web series will definitely drive you crazy with the acting skills of the cast and the unconventional storyline. The plot is all about mystery and how each revelation will send ripples through the entire Indian Army. Science fascinates all of our minds. Especially we have never been able to get over with the concept of time machines and time travel. Starting from Doraemon, to now this German series, time machines have always been something we have wanted to exist. Netflix’s Dark series is addition made into this genre. With its third and final season having released on the 27^th June 2020 on Netflix, it is a look out what mysteries got solved in this season? Will there be a final pause to the time travel? Will the mysteries of people being killed and the nuclear factory be solved?

Dark invariably, is one of the most complex to understand series of all times. The characters an their relation with each other are strangled together. It is based in the backdrop city of Winden. But we are here to give you a brief idea of the plot without too many spoilers.

The 1^st season began with the sudden disappearance of a child named Mikkel. He was the youngest son of Police Inspector Ulrich. Ulrich was also seen cheating on his wife with another woman. Mind you, there are a lot of cheating partners in the series. Another main character of the series is Jonas who is the son of Ulrich’s love interest. What was strange about Mikkel’s disappearance was a series of events, like animals dying, strange light flickering, etc. Well, according to Mikkel’s grandmother and some other elders of the city, this wasn’t the first time, all this was happening. Similar events happened at a time when they were young. And from here begins a series of mysteries.

All these event, get directly related to a cave that is present in the jungles of the city. The series get more and more complex with the upcoming episodes. People time travel to different years with the help of the cave. The cave actually is a warm hole that transports people from one time period to another time period.

In the latest season, we witness Jonas and Martha is the main lead. The concept of two different world, Adam’s World and Eve’s World come into the picture. Things takes a nasty turn.The third season is full of mysteries. Every character has different looks from different time period. The question lies, what is the constant transportation of people into different time periods? How is the warm hole supposed to close? Will there be more deaths?  The connection between the character is very confusing. Martha is the 2019 time period is Jonas’s friend, but in the future time period, she turns out to be his aunt. Wondering, how is that even possible?

Dark, indeed lives up to its name. The series is full of mysteries and concepts, which cannot be easily adopted by the human mind. It is one of the best science- fiction series made till date. We highly recommend you to watch the series. And, remember to watch it with full concentration because even a furniture in the series has a role to play.

We people are never satisfied with the plots that are quite simple. Even if the plot is simple and beautiful, still it should have some twist in it. But what will you say about a plot that is strange? What will you say if you witness some “Stranger Things” in it? Yeah, this time we are going to talk about one of those web series which made the audience crave for more and more seasons of it. So, this blog is all about the web series called Stranger Things. 

This web series has released 3 seasons till now and trust me, most of us are going crazy about the release of its 4th season. The series is a combination of Science fiction, horror, and historical drama genres. The series is created by The Duffer Brothers and composed by Michael Stein and Kyle Dixon. It first was released on 15th July 2016 on the digital platform, Netflix.

The series starring Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb Mclaughlin as Lucas, Joe Keery as Steve Harington, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Sadie Sink as Max and Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers. There are many more members of the cast who eventually got added up in the series over the release of every season. 

The series got an amazing response from the audience. It has got a rating of 8.8 out of 10 on IMDb, and 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. It has even got many awards such as MTV Movie & TV awards for Best Show in 2017 and 2018 and many more. It has been appreciated by audiences a lot and even now people are going crazy about when the new season will be released. 

Every season has something very interesting that keeps the audiences waiting for the next season. The third season was all about how Russians trying to open the gate and that in the course of sabotaging their plan, how Jim lost his life. Now the question is, did Jim actually die? As we had seen in the final episode of season 3, Jim was standing near the machine and then instructed Joyce to destroy it. So, the audience thought that he was dead. But, after seeing the trailer for the fourth season, all of us must have a lot of questions. 

And the most important question that arises is Jim still alive? Because after the release of the trailer for the 4th season we can see Jim in a Russian Camp. Will the gate re-open again? Will something stranger happen this time? To know the answers to all these questions, we need to wait for the season 4 of the Stranger Things. So, yeah we all are waiting for that day when all of our questions will be answered with the release of the new season.

The digital media is very famous for giving us unconventional web series and art cinemas. But have you ever heard of a commercial Bollywood film being released on a digital platform? Yes, you heard it right. This time of the pandemic has taught us many things. Well, it gave us yet another lesson that no matter what the situation is, our stars will never stop entertaining us. Also, it proved that irrespective of the platform, Bollywood movies will continue to hold a very special place in the hearts of the people.

On the 12th of June 2020, the Bollywood industry created a history by releasing a commercial cinema on the digital platform worldwide for the first time. The movie we have been talking about all this while is none other than Gulabo Sitabo.

With a cast of outstandingly talented actors, the legendary Amitabh Bacchan and Ayushman Khuranna, you can very well guess the quality of the movie. The movie directed by Shoojit Sircar beautifully gives you the lesson that Obsessive Greed for anything will finally make you fall on your face. The movie is a Hindi comedy-drama plot and has been beautifully executed. We have decided to review the movie on three levels: Story and Dialogues, Cinematography, and Acting.

1. Story and Dialogues:-

The story of the movie is rather simple. It shows the head-on clash between the two leads Amitabh Bacchan playing the role of Mirza and Ayushman Khuranna playing the role of Baankey Rastogi on an old mansion. Mirza is an extremely greedy man who day after day wishes for the death of his wife who is the real owner of the royal mansion. Baankey Ratogi on the other hand is a renter in the same mansion. How do the two fight and who really gets the mansion is the question? (P.S. the climax is a complete surprise)

The dialogues are written beautifully. You will burst into laughter hearing the hilarious abuses that Mirza and Baankey Rastogi exchange.

2. Cinematography:-

The direction and cinematography of the movie has been done beautifully. The backdrop of the story is amazing and perfect locations have been chosen to fit the context of the story. Market places and the royal mansion have been shown in an exceptionally well manner. Overall the movie appears to be very real.

3. Acting:-

Rare are such movies where all the actors would have performed their roles to the utmost perfection. Gulabo Sitabo is one of such rare movie. Amitabh Bacchan in the role of Mirza was excellent. Starting from the make-up to the walking and talking style. He has justified the title of legend given to him. Ayushman Khuranna’s role was full of wit and gags. The actor lived up to all our expectations.

Apart from the lead actors, all the supporting actors played their roles exceptionally well. Shristi Srivastava playing the role of Ayushman’s sister was much appreciated by the public. The roles of Farukh Jaffar, Vijay Raaz, and Brijendra Kala was also very well acted.

Wrap Up

The movie Gulabo Sitabo despite being launched amidst this lockdown, has garnered much popularity among the audience. We would give it a ranking of 9 out of 10. It is a must-watch movie and we highly recommend it.

Nowadays people are being more fascinated by the idea of anti-hero and that’s why web series like ASUR and Money Heist received such an amazing response. In fact, there is a web series which made the people go crazy about the King of Hell, the “LUCIFER”. Yeah, you got it right! This blog is about the web series called Lucifer which has already stolen the many hearts.

Lucifer is a mix of crime and urban fantasy genres. The first episode was released on 25^th January, 2016. The composers of the series are Ben Dectar, Jeff Russo, Marco Beltrami and Dennis Smith. It was a TV series which was later released on the digital platform Netflix. The series is developed by Tom Kapinos and is based on the characters that has been created for DC Comics’ Vertigo by Neil Gaiman Sam Kieth. The series is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.

The series is about the Devil, Lucifer, who returns from hell to spend a vacation in Los Angeles and runs a club named ‘Lux’. He soon gets involved with the local police, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and starts helping them solve tricky cases. The series starred Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Chloe Decker, Lesley- Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Kevin Alejandro as Daniel Espinoza, Rachael Harris as Linda Martin and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez. The series has released 4 of its seasons till now and those four seasons have created a lot of interest and buzz among the audiences for the Devil.

The series has got an amazing response from the audience as well as from the critics. It has a rating of 8.2 out of 10 on IMDb and 87% on rotten tomatoes. Now, people just can’t wait for the season 5 of this series and it is quite evident from the response which the series has got from the audience.

The 4^th season has left the audience to ponder over many questions. The season ended with Lucifer returning back to Hell taking the charge of his crown. Now, there are numerous questions which the audience is waiting to find an answer of. Will Chloe and Lucifer get together? Will Lucifer return back to the Earth for his love, Chloe? And there are many more questions. But to know the answers all we can do is just keep waiting for the season 5 to be released. So, no matter how much time we need to wait, the only thing that all the “Lucifans” know is that the waiting is worth it.

It has been close to 4 months now that all of us have been locked in our houses. During this period our lives have changed, the meaning of humanity has changed. There was a bright light of hope that could be seen, until what happened on the 27^th of May in Kerela.

A 15-year old pregnant elephant breathed her last in the silent valley of Palakkad. Her death was resorted to the consumption of harmful substance stuffed in a pineapple. This particular incident attracted many eyes. The incident was very unfortunate and we highly have our condolences towards it.

It has been over a week, and many sources have covered this issue in many ways. But, our motto at SPINS is not not to lay facts down, but to ask a few questions to the people, to the government, to ourselves. Even in  this sad incidence, the Indian media and a group of few uneducated people (that’s what we feel they are) did not hesitate from spreading communal hatred and fake news.

The very first was that the elephant was intentionally fed the pineapple in order to kill her. Here is a fact check. The people did not know the elephant was pregnant. The mother elephant had entered into the domestic cultivation field of the local farmers and by herself had eaten the pineapple which was placed for safety purpose, to drive away and kill wild animals like boars. The Kerela government had itself allowed the citizens to do so.

But here shoots up our first question. Even if the pineapple was mistakenly consumed by the elephant. It was not kept for her or intentionally fed to her. It was there for killing the wild boars. But how far is this justified? Is killing a boar less inhumane? In the year 1960, The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act was passed by the Indian Parliament. Section 11 of the same Act stresses on on stopping various acts of cruelty such as beating, kicking, overriding of animal, employment of unfit animals, administration of injurious drugs to them, confining or caging them, etc.

If the Act clearly outlines these guidelines, what gave the Kerela government the right to permit the citizens to allow the usage of such techniques to drive away wild animals. There are many other ways to keep away the wild animals from the domestic farms. What is your thought on it?

The second is even a nastier one. Giving a religious angle to the incident. A news claiming that two Muslim men named Amzath Ali and Thamim Shaikh were the culprits behind the death of the elephant and were arrested by the Police. Famous Amar Prasad Reddy, the media advisor of the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Affairs tweeted the same. Many others including the famous journalist Deepak Chaurasiya tweeted similar comments.

The entire incident was given a communal angle. I mean at least for once, we could stop talking about religion and focus on being more humane. Later such reports were denied by the Palakkad Superintendent of Police G Siva Vikram. He further reported the arrest of one caretaker of the farm named P. Wilson was arrested in the cases. The owners of the farm are also the alleged culprits behind this incident.

With a lot of WhatsApp forwards and fake news, people have started believing in all the wrong things. The practice of such actions have led to a downfall of the Indian journalism. These actions are a mere attempt of illegitimate people to spread unrest among the people.

The news of a similar incident against a cow in Himachal Pradesh came out to the picture today. While debate continues on the topic, we need to sit aback and think were is this world heading towards. The incidents of violence against animals are increasing day after day. All we do is to share and post pictures. There is no value of trying to extinguish a fire with a bucket of water when it has already gone out of control. We need to work on our fundamentals and from now lets pledge to report every injustice that we see before our eyes. The world can change only if we take a step forward.

I hope I could do some good by posting this article. Animals can speak, but their language is not understood by us. Let’s stop being cruel to these tiny creatures. Music, how will you describe it? Is it just about the lyrics or about the person who make us feel it? All of us have our favorite singers, right? But we just can’t deny the fact that in some way or the other, you must have fallen for this man at least once in your lifetime. And it is all because of his music. His voice. The feel with which he sings the songs and the way he gives life to those lyrics.

Okay, so now you must be guessing that who is “this” man, right? Well I think many of us must have got it right. Yeah, we are talking about none other than the very talented and the person who has the charismatic voice and the voice which will drive you crazy. Yeah, it is our very own Arijit Singh. This week’s blog we want to dedicate it to him on the occasion of his 33^rd Birthday.

He began his career by participating in one of the reality shows, Fame Gurukul in 2005. Though he could not win the title but his voice has won the hearts of many people. Thus, at the start of his singing career, he received many nominations and also won the award for “Duaa”. He received fame after the release of one of his blockbusters “Tum Hi Ho” and “Chahun Main Ya Naa” in 2013. Since then he kept on giving hit songs one after the other. In 2019, he was declared as the most streamed Indian artist by Spotify.

It won’t be wrong to say that even the B-town celebs are also in love with his voice. One of the most humble and down to earth singers who even says that he is just a common man like all of us and hates being a celebrity. In 2014, he has also been featured on Forbes India. He is one of the most-media shy person. He said that he came into music because he loved it, not because he wanted to be famous.

And today, Arijit Singh is just not a name but he is a brand in himself. Starting from heartbreaks to the party songs, Singh knows well, what his audience wants. He is doing concerts worldwide. Now, he is just not a national sensation but he has become the worldwide sensation.

First detected in December 2019 in Wuhan, declared as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30^th March and termed as a Pandemic on 11^th March 2020, all these information cater to only one virus which has proven to become one of the most contagious diseases the world has ever seen. Not even a single corner of the globe has been left unaffected by the virus.

India was detected with the first case of COVID-19 on 30^th January 2020 and since then there was no stop. The entire country went into a lockdown, even the Indian film Industry. All release dates postponed and shooting stopped half-way, we know it is very heart-breaking for all the movie lovers.

We now don’t get to see our stars on the big screen. But hey, just wait a second. Have our favourite stars stopped entertaining and motivating us. The answer is a big fat NOOOOOO…. The film industry is still connected with us. Not only through their Instagram handles, fan pages and sneaks of their quarantine time, but also through their short films and messages.  One such short film has done wonders in showing the integration of the Indian film fraternity. Yes Indian film fraternity, not just Bollywood, Tollywood, Bengali , Marathi movies, but the entire Indian film fraternity from every corner of India.

You must have guessed it by now, as there has been no other short film like this. And it is……… ‘Family’ virtually directed by Prasoon Pandey. It is an initiative by Amitabh Bacchan taken to help the daily wage workers of the film industry and the poorer sections.  

We know most of you must have seen the short film. The beauty of the film lies in the cooperation and hardwork every actor did with their family members to shoot the film without stepping out of their homes. The movie shows the true spirit of unity  that India holds,it conveys the message that irrespective of the regional differences, we all united shall fight this crisis.

The film holds a star cast of Rajnikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Shiva Rajkumar, Sonalee, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Diljit Dosanjh, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and the legend himself Amitabh Bacchan. The initiative is very beautiful and the black and white background makes the film even more attractive. The Family shows how at times of difficult, the members of a family all come together to do something leaving all their work.

The film ends on a funny note when Amitabh Bacchan says the reason behind him searching for his sunglasses. The film along with a strong social cause also entertains us. The acting done is very natural and appealing and the us of vernacular languages has made the film even more desirable.

It is for sure, that our actors never fail to surprise us. Even if we lose hope of seeing them, they present themselves before us everytime with new content. It has been observed that when a viewer is watching a movie, he/she might feel like, it should be something like how they want it to end like. We at SPINS are going to tell you all about one such amazing one-sided love plot movie which instead of being melodramatic, has a soft and soothing side to it that will make you go crazy about it.

Though the movie is not something which you can call as a quite recent one but still whenever you will watch it, you can actually feel the freshness of the content. Parineeta is an Indian Bengali romantic drama film directed and produced by Raj Chakraborty. The film illustrates an urban love story packed with love, break up and revenge, starring Subhashree Ganguly, Ritwick Chakraborty, Gaurav Chakrabarty and Falaque Rashid Roy along with Adrit Roy playing a pivotal role in the film. The movie was theatrically released on 6 September 2019. The story revolves around a teenager, named Mehul, who falls in love with her tutor, Babai, who is an exceptionally good student. Her world turns upside down when she hears the news of his suicide. But what made Babai commit suicide? Did Babai too had feelings for Mehul? Could Mehul express her love to Babai? And what is the revenge element of the story? To know all this, you gotta go and watch the movie. Its amazing and you would love it. It is a true portrayal of “Love ke liye kuch bhi karega”.

The movie got an amazing response from the audience as well as from the critics. The movie attained a rating of 7.3 on a scale of 10 from IMDb. The film also has a beautiful composition of songs as well. The film was successful in creating a buzz among the audiences and had actually provided the industry with one of the most amazing work.

So, in this quarantine period, you all must give it a watch. This movie will definitely win all of your hearts. The love plot along with the revenge pattern has doubled the beauty of the storyline as it is just not like any other simple or plain love story.

• Money Heist – Season 4 

The first on the list is the web series that crossed all the records and became Netflix’s most watched web series. Yeah you guessed it right, our very favourite Money Heist. While season 1 & 2 made us believe that the series has ended on a very happy note, the announcement of season 3 pushed our minds hard to think,”Now What?” Season three ended on as the Professor decided to declare a war, a big and nasty war. The trailer of season 4 reveals may confusing scenes to us. Nairobi, who we all thought to be dead, can be seen in the trailer of season 4. The police is all set to catch the Professor and his team this time. What is the Professor’s plan? Will this be an end? We know, a lot of questions are bubbling up in your mind. But don’t you  worry, season 4 of Money heist is all set to be on the screens on 3^rd April. Just a few days to go. Till then, wish you all a happy imagining.

• Mirzapur – Season -2

This web series when released in the year 2018, created a lot of buzz among the public. The characters of Kaleen Bhaiya, Munna, Bablu and Guddu blew our minds off. The greed for power, is indeed nasty. With season 1 ending on a emotional yet interesting note, most of us were anxious for the season 2. Well finally season 2 of Mirzapur has come to our rescue. With season 1 revolving around action, violence, life of goons, corruption, etc., Season 2 is set to be more revenge driven, as now Guddu is all set to take the revenge of Bablu and Sweety’s death. Well in season 2, all we can say to Munna  is ‘Munna Tu Toh Gaya Re…’. Whatever it may, but the expectation from this series is sky high.

• Special Ops

With Netflix and Amazon prime catching the attention of the people for web series, Hotstar is not far behind. It has continued to give us some fabulous web series as well. Another such web series is Special Ops starring Kay Kay Menon, Karan Tacker, Sana Khan and many other young talented actors. With the first episode aired on 17^th March 2020, the web series is already receiving much love from the audiences. It is an Indian espionage thriller series. The trailer of the series is amazing. The web series revolves around unmasking the mastermind behind the various terror attacks on India. It is much of a cat and mouse race. To be a part of this unfolding, go and start watching the web series Special Ops. We are sure you won’t regret it.
