While Article 377 has been decriminalized by the Indian government, accepting homosexuality is  still a very big question for all. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is the first bollywood movie where the love story of two men is depicted. The movie has opened well in the box office and is expected to do a good business.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, directed by Hitesh Kewalya, is set in the present time setup where Kartik and Aman, two young men are in love with each other. The movie shows their struggle of coming out as gays and making their families and society understand that love does not come with terms and conditions and that homosexuality is not a disease.

The movie is hilarious and provides you with punches every time. There is a stark contrast between the personalities of the main leads. While Kartik has come out in open about his sexuality and lest his family for it, Aman is still skeptical and scared to accept it. If you ask us, the character of Kartik was fearless but at certain times who would loose the connect. On the other hand, Aman’s character is more believable and connects well with the audience as it shows the dilemmas of the mind.

In the movie, Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta play the role of parents of Aman. Manu Rishi and Sunita Rajwar play the parts of Aman’s uncle and aunt and Maanvi Gagroo can be seen in the role of Aman’s sister whose one eye is destroyed and she struggles to get married. All the characters have played their roles very well. The attraction of the movie stays the unique KAALI GOBI discovered by Aman’s father who is a Agricultural Scientist.

All in all the movie was pretty good and the director has tried to give a very strong message to the society about homosexuality through comedy. We need more such Indian mainstream movies which are not the regular drama but have something unconventional to portray. So with this, we say Bye to you for this week. We will be back with more such interesting content the next week. Till then, lots of love and
